Pump It Up!  -  11:00 AM
Learn how to grow the biggest pumpkin on your block with tips from professional pumpkin grower Scott Armstrong. In 2011 Scott’s 1,019 lb pumpkin won first place at our annual Giant Pumpkin Weighing Contest. He will provide the tips and tricks to successfully grow a pumpkin on Long Island. Pumpkin seeds will be handed out.

Once you learn the basics, caring for houseplants is easy and fun! Learn how to choose a plant, where to place it and how to water and repot it. Our very own Walt Dworkin will be there to explain how to become a successful indoor gardener. This lecture will be repeated on Thursday, March 15th at 11 am.

Learn how to use a flower press to transform your favorite botanicals into a work of art. Hicks Landscape Designer Diane Balzano will explain the history of herbariums and will demonstrate the best techniques for collecting and pressing plants as well as the materials you will need.
